Week 8- Gaia

We once again switched groups for week 8. I now found my self in a group whose world was of an apocalyptic future on earth, with mutated animals, humans strugling for survival, and a lonesome robot. This world was Gaia.

Character Design

The subject of this world was greatly intruging, as it was more grounded in reality than the other worlds I had been apart of so far. We found that there wasn't much character designs tied down at this point, so we got started on that for the duration of the week.

The Robot

The Werewolf

I had done character design on the robot, and a werewolf. The robot was inspired by films like wall.e and alien, for the futuristic sleek look. However we switched this idea, and decied to make the robot old, and rusty, like an old relic of humanity. We combined the body of Bethany's robot with the head of mine, as we like how expressive we could make it.

The werewolf was made bipedal, yet very animalistic. We hoped that this would show that whilst still an animal, it had evolved beyoned what we have today, and we liked the ideo of the werewolves living in the rubble of a destroyed city. This is where the long arms was decided, we figured that it would e a cool concept to have the wolves climb and swing through the buildings like monkey. We based the shillohetted design off of SIAMÉS "The Wolf", a 2017 music video with a distict chiaroscuro lighting. This went on to form the basis for the visual style we hoped to convey for our world, as the bleakness, void world of colour would emphasize the impact of a destroyed future.
